StrongSwan is a free VPN app that can be used on Windows, Android, Apple, and FreeBSD Linux. In this guide we will show you how to connect to ProperVPN on an Android phone.
Before we start, you will need to login to the Account Dashboard and retrieve your VPN Credentials.
Open up the StrongSwan app on your Android Device.
Select “Add VPN profile” at the top right of the screen.
Enter the hostname vpn.propervpn.com
Select VPN Type:
IKEv2 EAP (Username/Password)
Enter your username and VPN token password that you previously retrieved from the Account Dashboard. Again, for the server hostname use vpn.propervpn.com and you will automatically be connected to the closest server to your location.
Enter the VPN Connection profile name, such as ProperVPN.
Select “Save” at the top right of the screen.
Now that you’ve saved the VPN profile, it will show up in the main menu of StrongSwan. Select the profile whenever you need to use ProperVPN
